The movie’s crux is the relationship between mother Agnus ,the character played by Lekshmipriya Menon and her son Maroon played by Nirmay.Maroon is kid suffering from Autism.Maroon’s life is only dedicated to football and he loves the game infact he knows nothing than football.Agnus loves her child much than anything in the world.Discovering her son is talented in football, Agnes encourages him to pursue it. “Autistic children usually possess hidden talent. While for some it’s music, for others it’s science, mathematics, art….For Maron, it’s football.” When an injury causes him to stop, a journey of self discovery begins for both mother and son as they come to Kerala for Ayurveda treatment. Former German Bunesliga player and Portuguese national player Roberto Pinto plays Nimay’s coach in the movie.
Performance wise the show steeler was Leksmipriya Menon who played agnus.She did her role to perfection.Nirmay the kid also excelled in his role.There was a good chemistry between the Lekshmipriya and Nirmay which looked cute in this film.R Sarath has utilised both them to a great extent.Director’s craft is something excellent in the movie as it has positive element all round which makes you to watch the movie..
On the Technical side ,Cinematography looked good also the music part.The music was done by Sachin Shanker Mannath who was a favourite student of the maestro A.R Rahman.
Overall the Swayam is one such movie which has kept International standards in making and visualisation.R Sarath’s Narration pattern is also well poised.On the whole the movie will be a strong contender for national and state level awards
