Mesut Ozil donates Rs 36 million to ‘Brazil kids’, not Gaza victims

It has been learnt that Ozil has decided to donate his World Cup bonus earnings for the charity work in Brazil. The amount of money – a staggering Rs.36 million – might be used for surgeries of 23 sick children in Brazil.

Ozil’s donation amount includes the earnings of 237,000 pounds for helping Germany win the final and 118,000 pounds for Germany’s semi-final win. Reports add that 23 represent one for each member of Germany’s 23-man squad.

However, that is only part of the complete story. It was also known earlier that the 25-year-old Arsenal star, who refused to shake hands with a FIFA official from Israel because of the Gaza attack, would donate the amount to the people suffering in Gaza.
